Chappelle Pharmasave Community Scholarship for Post-Secondary Students

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support and opportunities for post-secondary students pursuing higher education. Our aim is to empower and enable promising individuals to achieve their academic and career goals by alleviating some of the financial burdens associated with education. Through this scholarship, we seek to invest in the future of these students, recognizing their potential and commitment to personal growth, academic excellence, and contributions to society. We believe that access to education is a fundamental right and that by awarding this scholarship, we are not only promoting individual success but also the betterment of our community and beyond

We are pleased to announce three scholarship awards for post-secondary students, with the following amounts:

First Prize: $5,000
Second Prize: $3,000
Third Prize: $2,000

These awards are designed to recognize and support the academic excellence and aspirations of deserving students, providing financial assistance to assist them in their pursuit of higher education

Selection Criteria:

Academic Merit: Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic performance in high school. This includes the assessment of their GPA, course selection, and any academic honors or achievements.

Service to the Community of Chappelle/Surrounding Area: Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to their local community. This can be evidenced through active involvement in volunteer work, leadership initiatives, or extracurricular activities that benefit the Chappelle and surrounding areas.

Financial Need: Financial need will also be taken into consideration. To be eligible, applicants’ household income must be less than the specified threshold , as documented by the submission of financial documentation.

Post-Secondary Institution: Applicants must be applying to a post-secondary institution as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must specify the institution and program for which they intend to apply.  The deadline is December 15, for the academic year. The results shall be announced March 15 on the following year.


Application Requirements:

High School Transcript: Applicants must provide a copy of their high school transcript. This can be an official transcript obtained from MyPass or an unofficial copy of marks from Schoolzone. The transcript should clearly indicate their academic performance throughout high school.

Financial Documentation: Applicants are required to submit financial documentation to verify their financial need. This documentation should include details of their household income and expenses. The household income must be less than the specified threshold  CAD 36,000 to qualify for the scholarship.

Personal Essay: Applicants must submit a well-written personal essay that outlines their service to the community of Chappelle. This essay should provide specific examples of their involvement in volunteering at school or elsewhere within the community, leadership initiatives, or extracurricular activities that have had a positive impact on Chappelle and its residents.

Letter of Recommendation: Applicants must obtain a letter of recommendation from either a teacher or a community leader who can attest to their dedication to community service, leadership qualities, and academic capabilities.

Residence Requirement: To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must reside within the Chappelle area or one of the specified neighboring communities, which include Chappelle, Creekwood Chappelle, Jagare Ridge, Graydon Hill, Paisley, and Desrochers.
